      This one hour course provides an introduction to organ and tissue donation in Ontario.

      A printable certificate of completion is available at the end of the course upon successful completion of the quiz.  The quiz consists of 25 multiple choice, multi-select, and true/false questions.

      This course consists of four short learning modules about innovations in organ donation:

        • The Basics of Organ and Tissue Donation Following Death by Circulatory Determination (DCD) (~16 minutes)
        • DCD Heart Donation (~15 minutes)
        • Non-Perfused Organ Donation (NPOD) Following DCD Attempt (~10 minutes)
        • NPOD Following Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) at Home (~8 minutes)

      Note:  This course was originally published in 2020, before Trillium Gift of Life Network (TGLN) became a part of Ontario Health and before the expansion of legislation for medical assistance in dying to include patients whose death is not reasonably foreseeable.
